IRISH TEAM: In Romania Ireland are represented by a five-strong squad sponsored by Quick Park of Dublin Airport and under team manager Fiona Hennigan and coaches Pete Taylor, Zuar Antia, Gerry Storey. The side is Olympic champion Katie Taylor, Ceire Smith, Michaela Walsh, Joanna Lambe and our own Clare Grace. The team are competing in the first AIBA ranking tournament for Elite European female boxers since the Olympics in London in 2012. The finals are also a qualifier for the inaugural 2015 European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan. In all Thirty one nations, represented by 172 boxers, are will competing in the Polyvalent Hall in Bucharest. At home Clare's progress is keenly followed on twitter by her family and friends and by her trainer Jimmy Walsh and the members of her home town club in Callan.
CONFIRMATION: On a fine midsummers morning Bishop Seamus Freeman imparted the sacrament of confirmation to twenty two 5th and 6th class children from St Nicholas School at mass in St Nicholas Church on Sunday.

CAMOGIE NEWS: The Camogie Club are running a Fund Raising Draw with Cash, Hampers and Dinner Vouchers. Tickets costing €5 are available from any member or player.
CLUB NEWS: Windgap went down to Carlow's Naomh Bríd who ran in three goals in the quarter final of the Paddy Cahill Cup in Leighlinbridge on Friday evening. The loss was tempered when the Junior "B" side had a good win over the Rower Inistioge on the following evening. The side play host to neighbours Piltown on Friday evening next. In the under fourteen league the side had a nice win over Barrow Rangers before travelling to play Cloneen where they went down by a single point.
LOTTO: Numbers 7, 9, 19, 26 and bonus number 12 brought a match three cheque to PJ Egan. Next weeks prizefund is €9,400
