This mornings event triggered the start of the Windgap Summer Solstice festival, with the next event being the Barbecue in Powers of Tullahought tonight.
Like pilgrims from the distant past, a great crowd assembled at the Knockroe ancient burial tomb this morning, for the Summer Solstice of 2014. Walking from all sides of the parish (with the particularly hardy crusaders making the long trip from Killamery) after an assembly in darkness. A crowd of around 110 bodies arrived at the Coshel, and were rewarded with a cup of tea, provided by Nicky Hawe. Thanks to Nicky and to those who provided the buns.
