13/7/2014

Written and performed by the Corrigan Brothers of "There's no one as Irish as Barack O'Bama" fame.

The songs existence has been know about, but not many have heard it or seen the video.   Strangely only available on the Pakistani website tune.pk  !

There's lots of local references in the song - Its worth a listen.

Update - We just found it on Youtube and found the words!

chorus
Oh the girls are feeling swooney
As they welcome home George Clooney
Back to Ireland and Kilkenny
Back to meet the Clooney Clan

He thought he was from Kentucky
But good ould George Got lucky
It transpires That he’s a
Proud Kilkenny man
Gabriel Murray  he unlocked
Georges roots in Tullahought
Clooney’s coming back
To his Kilkenny Clan

he knows Angelina Jolie
but his hero is Brian Cody
he plans to meet him
for a few  ould jars
he’ll go up to Nowlan Park
as the twilight turns to dark
to watch Henry Crashin balls
over the bar

chorus
Oh the girls are feeling swooney
As they welcome home George Clooney
To Tulahaught his homeplace
To meet the Clooney clan

He’ll be smiling at the ladies
And kissin all the babies
And meetin all the cousins
For a chat
In powers bar they’ll keep it goin
And The smithwicks will be flowin
Mary Egan will make sure
They see to that

chorus
Oh the girls are feeling swooney
As they welcome home George Clooney
Back to Ireland and Kilkenny
On his great big Motorbike

Well it’s not Hollywood
But Tullahaught is just as good
George’s welcome will
Be without compare
There’ll be purcells
There’ll be Bourkes
Good ould George will get the works
And every single Clooney will be there

chorus
Oh the girls are feeling swooney
As they welcome home George Clooney
To the county of Kilkenny
To meet the Clooney clan

chorus
Oh the girls are feeling swooney
As they welcome home George Clooney
To Tulahaught his homeplace
To meet the Clooney clan
