A crowd of sixteen travelled to K-Bowl in Kilkenny from Windgap YC to join other clubs in the Ossory Youth club league. Clubs from Johnswell, Kilmacow and Hugginstown competed.

MATCH REPORT COURTESY OF GAMOY GAA FACEBOOK U-14 Roinn B League First Round 21-4-15 Dicksboro 4-6 Galmoy/Windgap 4-5 Galmoy/Windgap were unfortunate to come up a point short against Dicksboro B in their first game of the year in Palmerstown tonight.Despite the loss there were some very impressive performances and it augurs well for the rest of the year.Galmoy/Windgap led early on thanks to a Billy Drennan goal in the second minute.Their midfielders Jack Doyle and Padraig Foley were very good with two points coming from Padraig Foley to lead 1-3 to 0-4 at the interval.Eoin Dalton at full forward was very good and scored 0-4 for a Dicksboro team who were all Under 13s.David Sherman also brought off two good saves in goal for the visitors before the break. Halftime substitute Sean Dunne added an early second half goal for Galmoy/Windgap and Matt Delaney first timed another to the net in the 37th minute to lead 3-3 to 0-5. Dicksboro however, stepped up the pace and hit four goals without reply to lead 4-6 to 3-3. Galmoy/Windgap came back again with goals from Padraig Foley and Billy Drennan and a Jack Doyle point.They had a 40 metre free to level the game in the 58th minute but the effort went wide and the chance was lost. Next game is against Glenmore in Windgap on Wednesday April 29th. Following the de-forestation of Carraigadoon in recent year’s new vistas as have been opened up across six counties from its slopes. As a result plans been put in place to have an organised walk to the top on Sunday next the 26th of April at 2pm The renowned Historian and Naturalist Liam Burke will lead the walk and this will be an informative and enjoyable event. The walk begins at the Coillte entrance beside Newtown School on the road between Faugheen and Ahenny. An invitation is extended to all to see the Heritage and the panoramic views that have not been seen for over a generation.
A first draft of the pitch schedule is now available for all coaches in the GAA clubs meeting room. Please review and revert to Matthew O'Shea 085 1742185 with any changes. Community Games may be a reality in Windgap, Tullahought and Coolagh areas in 2015.
The geographical area envisaged for affiliation with Kilkenny CG are the old civil parishes of Tullahought, Killamery and Coolagh. More information, and meeting announcement later this week. It was local Derby Day today in schools Camogie, with Windgap facing their near neighbors and fellow club members, Dunamaggin NS at home in Dunamaggin GAA grounds.
There was only a point in it at half time, but Windgap opened up in the second half. There were so many stars on the day it would be impossible to begin to name them. Well done to players and management. All Ireland honours for Windgap lads representing Kilkenny in the under 12/13 and 16/17 Team finals handball championships earlier today, in St. Joseph’s, Wexford. hard luck to u14/15 team who were beaten in the semi final by 2 aces by Monaghan .
