OUT FOR A WALK: The walking Routes for the next few weeks on Saturday mornings weather permitting are Saturday 26th January, Carraigmoclear Wood 2.5 hours approx. Saturday 2nd February Windgap to Tullahought return via Slatequarries 2.5 hours approx. Saturday 9th February Slatequarries, Ahenny Loop 1.5 hours approx. Saturday February 16th Newtown Wood 1.5 hours approx. Saturday February 23rd Frankfort Loop 2.5 hours approx. Meeting Point: Lake in Windgap every Saturday am 9.30 be there and "You will never Walk alone". Alternatively evening walks take place on Monday and Thursday evenings in Tullahought at 7.30pm
GRANDPARENTS DAY: Windgap School hold their Grandparents day on Wednesday the 30th of January at 1:30pm in the community hall in Windgap.

Other winners were table prize John Kennedy and Eamon Saunders and Wattie Walsh, Noel Ryan, Laurence Foley John Kennedy Brian Hickey and Dean Madden. The next game takes place on Friday all 22nd February and all are welcome
LEINSTER HANDBALL: On Wednesday 23rd at Garryhill Philip Lonergan defeated Maurice Murray (Kildare) in the third game and the same evening in Monivea Eamon Purcell defeated Sean Ryan (Carlow) also in the third game. On Thursday evening 24th in Monivea Jimmy Purcell was defeated in two games by Padraig Maguire (Kildare) On Saturday 26th in Ballymore Eustace Julie Walsh was beaten in the third game by Maria McCarthy (Dublin).
COUNTY HANDBALL: Michael Power, Wesley Smyth, Eamon Hawe, Philip Lonergan, Shane Walsh, Lee Quinn, Aaron Butler, Cian Ryan, Sean Foley, Darren Walsh and P.J. Barron are amongst those representing the club in the adult county championships. In the most recent games Philip Lonergan defeated Eoin Hennessy (Clogh), Eamon Hawe (inj) gave a walkover to Ger. SCHOOLS HANDBALL: There were a number of club players representing their schools during the week. Deirdre Purcell and Margaret Purcell played for Scoil Mhuire Carrick on Suir and Aine Dunne and Caoimhe O’Shea lined out for St Brigids Callan. In the boy's events Niall Walsh played for St Kieran’s as Shane Cullen, Aidan Culleton, James Culleton, Robert White, Josh Price, Darragh O’Shea and Emmett Landy lined out for Colaiste Eamon Rís.
CLUB NEWS: At the recent social function an award for the best Senior and Young player in the club was made to James Murray and Peter Landy respectively. The Club held their first committee meeting on Thursday in the clubrooms.
FOOTBALL: The juniors play Young Irelands in the first round in Windgap on Saturday 2nd February at 3pm. In preparation they had a run out with Balllyneale on Sunday.
