A ten point scoring salvo by Billy Ryan was the difference between the two sides as Graigue Ballycallan won the U-16 Duggan Steel Roinn B County title at a sunny Freshford. It all started so well for Galmoy Windgap with Oisin Phelan pointing after only sixty seconds play. Soon after Conor Drennan opened his account for the afternoon after Conor Grace found him in the space. Oisin Phelan who was making a lively start to proceedings found his namesake Brandon Phelan who duly pointed. Ballycallan were looking a little out of sorts at this stage and really got a goal against the run of play with Ciaran Hogan firing home from the edge of the square which turned the game on its head. It was at this stage the mercurial Sean Ryan started to boss things from midfield landing a hat-trick of points in four minutes with two coming from play. Column Prenderville & Ryan tagged on further points but Brandan Phelan responded for the eventual losers.Ryan then showed some quick thinking when he found Jamie Lawlor with a free who duly pointed.Prenderville and Ryan grabbed themselves further points. It was at this stage Jamie Lawlor made a decisive burst heading on a mazy 65metre solo which ended with the corner forward sending the green flag waving.As half time approached Galmoy/Windgap did pull themselves back into the contest with points from Drennan(free) & James Culleton to leave them trailing at the break 2-8 to 0-6.
Graigue Ballycallan got the good start to the second half with Sean Ryan firing over two pointed frees.
