Having defeated Muckalee in the semi-final in Windgap on Monday evening Windgaps senior camogie side travelled to Piltown on Wednesday evening for a final clash with old rivals Thomastown. At the venue they captured their first ever All County League title at Senior level when they defeated Thomastown by 3-9 to 1-9. Having dominated the first half the side had to overcome a two point deficit to tie the game 0-7 to 1-4 at the interval
Two quick goals after the break gave them some breathing space as the nerves of the fine band of local supporters were stretched as a sustained Thomastown rally in the final ten minutes saw the defence under extreme pressure of conceding further goals.
